It will be an important document on which the country can base its plans for the long term development of its power sector.<br /><br /> The work areas for developing the framework split into a logical sequence of studies which included:<br /><br /> <ul> <li>Reviewing domestic demand and export projections;</li> <li>Considering the sources of energy and generation development required to satisfy Nepal s demand and develop export potential for surplus energy;</li> <li>Determining the necessary infrastructure to evacuate power from generation points to load centres in a stable, reliable, adequate and safe manner; and</li> <li>Considering the development of the more localised distribution systems to connect new customers and reduce the significant levels of system losses that NEA is currently facing.</li> </ul> <br /> The output of the work was a report setting out the framework for the PSMP and an overview was presented at a seminar of interested parties in Nepal. <br /><br /> <p class="footnote">* Please note that we maintain commercial confidentiality regarding work undertaken for customers.
