Restructuring of the Power Sector, Nepal

Preparing for setting up NEPGRID, a corporation to manage and develop the Kingdom’s grid system and function as an ISO and IMO (2005/6).


Capacity building of the regulatory authority, Pakistan

Development of market structure, licences, operating codes, procedures for financial reporting and strengthening customer services (2002).


Accounting to international standards, Ukraine

Conversion of accounts for Generating Companies to IAS, including the introduction of a new MIS, preparation of manuals and training.


Performance Improvement, UK Utility

Review and assessment of a major network operator's capacity to respond to emergencies and restore supplies promptly, followed by an action and implementation plan (2005).


Corporatisation, Bangladesh

Two distinct projects to create corporations (from existing state owned assets) to manage and develop the distribution of electricity to customers in the west zone of the nation (2003/4) and the capital city Dhaka (2005 and on going).


Business planning in the power sector, Nigeria

Two separate assignments on project planning for restructuring NEPA (2003/4) followed by developing a business plan and its later implementation for the Transmission Company of Nigeria (completion scheduled during 2007).


Studies of power sector performance, UK

Two distinct but interrelated studies: (a) a review of the resilience of the transmission and distribution companies should they be required to cope with a major natural or man-made disaster; and (b) a study of the comparative performance of distribution network operators in response to the major storms of autumn 2002. Both studies were published by the Government for public consultation and can be found on www.dti.gov.uk


Regulatory and commercial development, Oman

Development of licencing arrangements, operating codes, customer services standards and improvements to billing and collection systems.


Power market twinning and technical exchange project, Ukraine

Technical exchange programme covering business strategy, prospectus preparation, market structure and licencing issues, power station operating practice and HR/management development.
